The following items and recyclables are accepted at this transfer station. Please refer to notes where fees and restrictions apply.

No fee.

boat hulls and trailers
Fee applies. We accept trailers and boat hulls under 17 feet in length. Motors and electrical must be removed before disposal. A $50 surcharge applies for all waste over 2 m in length.

cardboard
No fee. Waxed cardboard is not accepted.

carpet
Fee applies.

concrete, asphalt or bricks
Fee applies. Concrete, asphalt and bricks are accepted as fill material, to a maximum quantity of 0.5 cubic metre (aprox. 2 wheebarrows). Contact RCBC at 604-732-9253 or rcbc.bc.ca to locate a recycler near you.

drywall/gypsum
Fee applies. We accept up to 1 tonne of drywall/gypsum per trip. Drywall/gypsum must be separated from the garbage. A 50% fee surcharge applies if drywall/gypsum is mixed with garbage. For larger quantities, contact New West Gypsum at 604-520-6647 or www.nwgypsum.com

food waste (including spoiled frozen food)
Fee applies. We accept residential amounts of food waste. We do not accept raw meat. To dispose of raw meat, contact RCBC at 604-732-9253 or rcbc.bc.ca.

furniture
Fee applies.

glass bottles and jars
No fee. No window glass, ceramics, mirrors, broken glass, or light bulbs. No hazardous chemical or paint containers. Plastic lids must be removed.

glass windows
Fee applies. Commerical amounts of glass is not accepted.

green waste (yard clippings)
Fee applies: $59/tonne. Coquitlam residents (with proof of residency) can drop off green waste at no cost at the Coquitlam Construction Recycling Facility at 1001 United Blvd.

hot tubs
Fee applies. A surcharge of $50 is applied to material larger than 2 m.

insulation
Fee applies. We accept double bagged fiberglass (pink) insulation only. We do not accept blown insulation, pipe insulation or any asbestos containing insulation. To dispose of the restricted material please contact the Vancouver Landfill at 604-323-7737.

mattresses
Fee applies. If the item is in good condition and clean, consider donating it to charity. Use the Salvation Army container at our Coquitlam location or contact RCBC at 604-732-9253 or rcbc.bc.ca for other options.

metals & aluminum cans and other items (trays, foil paper)
No fee. No aerosols, hazardous chemical or paint cans. Clean and free of contaminants.

oil filters
No fee. We accept up to 5 oil filters per trip to the station. Contact RCBC at 604-732-9253 or rcbc.bc.ca for options on how to dispose of oil and empty containers.

paint cans
No fee. We accept empty paint cans only at the transfer stations for recycling. For cans containing paint, contact RCBC at 604-732-9253 or rcbc.bc.ca to locate a Product Care Collection Depot near you.

paper - office, mixed, newspaper, magazines
No fee.

plastic containers (codes 1-7), film and bags
No fee. No hazardous chemical or paint containers. Clean and free of contaminants.

propane tanks
No fee. Small single-use cylinders are not accepted. Drop them off for recycling at your local Canadian Tire, or with the retailer where you purchased the tank.

scrap metal and metal appliances
No fee. Various itmes including stoves, refrigerators, freezers and BBQs, up to 6 feet x 6 feet x 3 feet. There are no limits on quantity of appliances.

sod and soil
Fee applies. Accepted as fill material up to a limit of 0.5 cubic metre (aprox. 2 wheelbarrows). For larger quantities, contact RCBC at 604-732-9253 or rcbc.bc.ca to locate a recycler near you.

stumps
Fee applies. Stumps smaller than 60 cm (2 feet) in diameter. Stumps are NOT accepted at the Coquitlam Construction Recycling Facility.

Styrofoam¨
