March 28, 2012 - Wastech Significantly Reduces Emissions on the Road to Cache Creek Landfill, Converts Truck Fleet to Cleaner Burning Natural Gas --Wastech Services Ltd., the co-owner and operator of the Cache Creek Landfill (CCLF), announced today that it is switching its truck fleet from diesel to natural gas for the transportation of municipal solid waste from the Lower Mainland to the Cache Creek Landfill and woodchips back to the coast. The switch to natural gas will reduce transportation GHG emissions by 25%.

February 14, 2012 - Revised Operational Certificate for Cache Creek Landifll Could Open Door for Recovery of Energy from Landfill Gas --Wastech Services Ltd., the co-owner and operator of the Cache Creek Landfill (CCLF) together with the Village of Cache Creek, announced today that the BC Ministry of Environment (MoE) is proposing an amendment to the CCLF operational certificate that mandates, among other things, that the CCLF begin recovering energy from landfill gas by June 2013.

June 6, 2011 - Cache Creek Landifll on Track to Meet or Exceed New Provincial Landfill Gas Collection Guidelines --The Village of Cache Creek, co-holder of the operations permit, together with Wastech Services Ltd., operator of the Cache Creek Landfill, announced today that the landfill is on track to meet or exceed new provincial regulations that require BC operators to capture 75% of the landfill gas by 2016.
